Class Two
Welcome to Class 2! We are a mixed-age class made up of Years 2, 3, and 4 and the teachers are Miss Berry and Mrs Knight, supported by Mrs Dunstan and Mrs Saunders. Miss Berry is the teacher for the first half of the week and Mrs Knight takes over from Wednesday afternoon.
Our school is a great place to learn. The children are happy, behave very well, give every day their all and have a lot of fun. Our class is a very supportive, caring and inclusive environment; one where the children have a voice. We are incredibly lucky to be part of such a nurturing school and get to know the children and their families over more than just one year.
Please follow our Twitter feed to see what learning we have been up to.
All the adults work hard to ensure that we support our children to become motivated, confident individuals who aim to ‘be the best they can be’. We aim to provide our children with a well-rounded school experience, one that is exciting and fun. We feel we are ‘the bridge’ from starting school in Class 1 to the independence of Class 3.
We work hard on the basic skills of reading, writing and Maths, but we also make time for the full curriculum. Science, Humanities, Art, Music, PE and French all play a big part in the school week.
Each term has an overarching topic. One term may be History-based, e.g. the Romans, and another term may be Geography-based, e.g. continents and oceans. Wherever possible we try to link these topics across the wider curriculum.
Throughout the year we will share many stories, songs and poems. Drama is a favourite tool of ours to enrich learning – we use this to bring the curriculum to life. The children also use technology to research the curriculum, and we aim wherever possible to get them learning outdoors.
We hope that you find our webpage informative and interesting and that it gives you a flavour of life in our class.
